I Say... John Seddon - Freedom from Command & Control

I am writing this note to recommend a book by John Seddon called; Freedom from Command & Control. Now here is why...

Over the last two years I have been interested in new ways of doing things; like implmentation, measures, managing, managing people, etc. I have felt that ISO and the Baldridge approach was limited in its usefulness when I saw the typical results in most organisations. Especially when compared to the effort used to implement. I then started to read John Seddons work on systems thinking, and got interested.

However, his latest book takes Lean, Systems thinking and Deming and does what most others do not - he gives good examples and a method to understand and use this in any organisation. So if you are interested in more than just theory, I would recommend the book.

I would like to hear from what others thought if the book.

Ilias
