Please Help! Internal Auditing Software packages - Seeking Recommendations

I am looking for a software application to manage our Internal Audits. So far I have been sent evaluation CD's for QMap, Gael Quality Ltd (Q-Pulse) and Ideagen (Quality Workbench). Has anyone had any experience of these applications or others?

Thwe company I just finished with had a canned package that was used. It was not too used friendly, rigid in it's reporting, and really was not of much use.

I programmed an Access database to do the whole thing and it gives them all the reporting they need as well as flexibility. sugest you look into a home-grown package the does what YOU want it to do. The other advantage is, by doing it yourself (orthe IS Guru's), you will be able to make changes as necessary with a minimal cost and delay.

This is an interesting question. I have not known anyone buying a standalone Audit Management software. Typically Organizations buy the whole Suite for QMS.

If there is no need for advanced features, getting done with Access database is a cheaper option. We developed interally an Access based Audit Checklist program. We still handle Audit schedule by Excel sheets and invite by Emails. They are not linked to each other.

I recently reviewed "Metric Stream" Audit module and was very impressed. But this comes with a cost. This is also part of the entire QMS Suite.

What are the special features that you need that would warrant a stand alone Audit Management Software?

Govind.
(I am making an assumption that internal audit software as a subset of Audit Management Software).

I followed exactly the same route as the Taz: Not being able to find a commercial product to my liking (Years ago, there should be something by now), I used Access to create what I wanted.

What started out as a pretty simple database has now evolved little by little into a fullgrown application dealing with all aspects of our Inetrnal audits: IA scedule, checklists, reports, follow up, and so on. I can also publish a number of lists and evaluations as well as all audit reports on our intranet by the push of a button.

I would share it, but it's all in swedish and basically built acc to our way of doing things which would make it a to translate.

I am actually looking for a complete QMS package, preferably web based. I have found a company called Qualsys who have a web application to manage document control, audits and equipment management. They have estimated a total cost of around £30,000!!!

In the mean time I have been developing an Access database. It's turning out to be more time consuming than I expected!!
