Contract Firms Keeping Training Records

This is several years old. Just an FYI as I clean out some of my junk here scanning paper to disk.

The contract firm required this - Not Ford (Ummm - well, I'm sure Ford required it of the contract firm but not from contract individuals). Any comments?

I'm not sure of the value of such a form. If the employee fills it out, then is that "proof" that the employee was trained on that subject? Is it proof that the employee is competent on the subject?

I would feel better if the supervisor was to fill one out on each employee stating whether they thought the employee needed training on each subject. But that is only my opinion.

I pretty much concur with db. I am not embarrassed to admit I have attended some "required" classes and seminars throughout my life, ranging from high school through today where the material either did not hold my interest or the presenter was completely incompetent.

When I was powerless to object to the content or presenter, I occupied the time with crossword puzzles, Playboy centerfolds, naps, and other activities completely at variance with the topic of the class or seminar. However, my attendance record was excellent (probably only because I was too lazy or poor to ditch every one - although I was never afraid to ditch, and I did anytime there was a more worthwhile or interesting (to me) activity elsewhere.
