7th Annual Measurement Quality Conference

The Seventh Annual Measurement Quality Conference
Sponsored by the American Society for Quality, Measurement Quality Division
In conjunction with the 54th annual Midwest Quality Conference

Pre-conference tutorial:
Uncertainty, Traceability, and ISO Standards
Instructors: Phil Stein and Woody Eicke.
(tutorial 9/13, conference 9/14-15)

Measurement, calculation, and statement of uncertainty is on everyone's mind. While calibration labs and metrologists have always cited their results with some estimate of measurement error, the formal reports of uncertainty are being required more and more frequently in commerce. This workshop, a repeat of last year's SRO offering, will teach what is required by various standards and systems, approaches to measuring, calculating, and reporting uncertainties in a conformant way, and how to make and use error budgets to determine your uncertainty.

Faculty for the tutorial include Woodward G. Eicke and Philip Stein Both instructors are former NIST metrologists now in private consulting practice.

This presentation will be held at the SeaGate Center, Toledo, OH. September 13, 1999. It immediately precedes the Division's Annual Conference September 14 and 15, held in conjunction with the Midwest Quality Conference - all at the same location. The tutorial and the conference are open to the public and are not restricted to ASQ members.

Fees for the tutorial will be $325 per participant (non-members), $300 (ASQ members), $275 (Measurement Quality Division members), and will include materials, workbook, and two coffee breaks.
