Okay. I take it you are considering implementing or proposing 6S in your organization, or else making yourself smart enough to do so for self-promotion purposes. Good enough for me!john_johnson said:Hi

First thing: no one comes from the egg knowing about how to do these things, including writng a paper, so please don't feel you are saying something stupid. Okay? We learn by doing.
Start by doing some research. I did a Google search using the words "implementing six sigma" and found a lot of sites to peruse, lots of books to check out at the library. Can you access your area's college library, or if you are an ASQ member does your section have a reference library? If you decide to buy books, consider the used books from Amazon.com. They can be very cheap, though you will not get free shipping.
When you look through the sources you will see that approaches to the subject of implementing a program like this vary. You can begin to decide which methoids you would like to use, what changes you think you could get away with, the tools you will need and so on.
I don't know how much practice you have at writing papers, so I will add:
Jot down points as you go through your research, to structure what you will write in your paper. So I don't get lost, I type these points out on my document when it's time to write and add several blank lines between them. Now you're getting organized.
Even if, as you write, you don't intend to keep a bibliography, doing so (and citing references throughout the paper) gives you a footprint to the sources. What you can do (something I don't, thoguh I should) is include the page number when you list books and magazine articles in the bibliography (reference) section. Similarly, listing and citing the web sites you visit ensures you can find them later. I have gone back to sites many times...
I hope this helps!
