Accessory addition to a registered Class lla device

Starting to get Involved
I want to add an accessory to a registered Class lla device, the accessory is not to be sold without the device, it will be a part of the kit.
According to MDD,
‘accessory’ means an article which whilst not being a device is intended
specifically by its manufacturer to be used together with a device to enable it
to be used in accordance with the use of the device intended by the
manufacturer of the device
"

So this accessory, it is an essential part of the device and is not intended to be sold without the device. Therefore,It cannot receive an independent classification.

If you have another input, I am open to discussing it. I am just trying to understand why do we have to register an accessory independently as Class I when it is an integral part of the system?

The "accessory" has no purpose without the device or the device cannot be used with the "accessory"?

If the device works without the accessory, then you have to think about what the device does extra with the accessory Vs without. If the device doesn't work without the accessory, then you have a component, not an accessory.
