Hi,
Is there a way to compare two test variables using attribute data?
We have the same product made with two different sources of raw ingredients. We put both product variables thru a shipping test and evaluated the damage to the product. We use an attribute rating scale of 0 to 5, with 0 being no damage to 5 being non-saleable, and 1 to 4 have damage levels in between. Is there a method to statistically compare the two variables to say one is better than the other? If I was measuring the hardness values as variable data, I could run a T test between the two variables but not sure if there is a way using our rating scale as rating 2 is not 2x worse than rating 1, and rating 4 is not 2x worse than rating 2, etc..
Thanks.
