Where does OEE (Overall Equipment Effectiveness) belong?

I use both. FMEA is tool to analyse and discover modes of failure and to define measures to reduce or eliminste probability of their occurence. OEE is tool to report effectiveness of equipment which is further used to analyse causes reducing OEE and define measures to improve it.

not sure what you mean? OEE is a metric and FMEA is a method.
you could use FMEA along with other tools to help create a process that has a better OEE. is this what you are getting at?

Sorry for late answer, but why isn´t they both metric and method actually?

Though yes something like using FMEA as one tool/method to get deeper behind the OEE numbers and work with solutions. SMED could be a more direct approach to improve OEE?
