Purpose: This procedure is to outline the methods for providing training to all personnel performing activities relating to the design, production, inspection or servicing of the company's products. Scope: This procedure applies to all engineering, production, customer service and quality assurance personnel. Procedures: 1.0 New Employee Orientation 1.1 The department manager is responsible for arranging orientation and initial job training to new employees. An orientation schedule should be prepared to have personnel cover the following areas: - Review and understanding of the company's quality manual. - Review and understanding of the company's policy and procedure manual. - Overview of Master Product Records with attention to areas applicable to the job function of the new employee. - Specific training on how to perform the work activities of the job function. - Review and understanding of workplace rules, guidelines and safety instructions. - Other areas as deemed appropriate. 2.0 New Product Training 2.1 As part of new product development, all employees will be appropriately trained on production related activities prior to producing the new products. Refer to the procedure "Preproduction Quality and Planning." EMPLOYEE TRAINING Page 2 of 2 3.0 Continuing Training 3.1 Department managers will be responsible for providing continuing and/or topical training to their employees on a periodic or on an "as-needed" basis. The department managers are to determine the content, timing, instruction format and any follow-up for identified training needs or deficiencies.
