Circa 2000 Hola my friend! I have posted these procedures and forms for informational purposes. Be aware that they are *NOT* intended to be used in your company. Canned procedures are rarely sufficient. They may serve to give you ideas, however. In fact, I personally rarely use text procedures in implementation efforts myself. I only use text for quality manuals. Note that I recommend you use the ISO or QS text for the beginning of your quality manual. The manual its self should be tailored as you develop your systems - not as a beginning. Writing your manual first is simply foolhardy. I have inserted this 'caution' as I have been contacted by several companies which, as it turned out, have hired 'consultants' who are using this material and who were using it wrongly (as in the wrong way). Two have made their $20K or $40K or more and up and left when the going got tough. Most of what I am now seeing is 'consultants' who have little experience in general and little or no implementation experience. ISO and QS is becoming a ripe field for anyone with a little info to 'look as if they have'. This is particularly true in the QS field. ISO (at best) 'consultants' are claiming QS experience when they have little or no experience with automotive experience. You would be well advised to check references to ensure your 'consultant' has actually implemented several QS programs successfully (yes - several). You could end up spending thousands (or hundreds of thousands) of $ unneccessarily and end up with serious problems to boot. Note: Having taken a Lead Auditor training course means little, particularly relating to implementation. Having implemented an ISO system is not qualification for implementating a QS system. As I stated in the beginning, I *DO NOT* advise the use of text procedures. They are 'The Old Way'. Companies such as Harley-Davidson (ISO) are using flow charts for tier 2's (and many tier 3's) based upon my advice as is Motorola Semiconductor Group/Sector (QS). They are simpler and save thousands of $ short term, not to mention long-term... So - text procedures are here and they're free - you don't have to buy them. But think before you use them. I take no responsibility for their use. Regards, Marc T.
