"Evolutionary operation (EVOP): This analytical approach
is aimed at securing data from manufacturing operations
(as distinguised from laboratory or pilot plant experiments).
Successive lots are made under process conditions which
vary from one lot to another. The EVOP method goes a step
further by deliberately creating some variation which will
provide needed data without jeopardizing the product. Special
analysis techniques then derive the relationships which form
the basis of product improvement (See section 26 under
Evolutionary Operation.)" Gosh, this stuff even SOUNDS
