I can access the PDF directory, but I am having difficulties in reading all Excel documents. I was able to read them last week, and now all I get is gibberish. Can you help? IP: Logged |

You mean they transfer but you cannot open them? Specifically which one(s)? Are you using the same computer and set up? Nothing here has changed. What happens with WORD (.doc) files? IP: Logged |

I was able to to open and transfer the GAGER&R.XLS file a few weeks back. When I went to open CP-master.xls it gave me gibberish. I tried just about all the other XLS files in the list and I got the same. I am able to open up word documents without problem. My computer hasn't changed at all - I little bit confused here, I have spoken with our company computer geek - he's the one that suggested I check with you and see if it is something on your end. I don't know what to tell you. I downloaded both gager+r.xls and cp-master.xls on both my Mac and my PeeCee (Office 2000). Both files downloaded and opened without a problem. I'm using Windows98 and Internet Explorer on my PeeCee. On my Mac I have OS 9 and Office 98 and Internet Explorer. I did this for both servers. Did you get the 'gibberish' in your browser or did you download the file to your hard disk and try to open it (them) with Excel? On my peecee the files open in my browser first and then I have to save them to disk where i can open them with Excel. If you are getting 'gibberish' in your browser window, go back to the directory listing and (I assume you're using a peecee) right-click on the file name and you should get a requestor saying somethinmg like 'Download target to disk' or something similar. Try that and see if the files that download onto your hard disk will then open with Excel. Let me know what happens -- and if anyone else is experiencing this problem please let me know. IP: Logged |
