Marc,
When I enter the site, the date that is displayed as the last time I visited the site shows May 18. All the light bulbs are on for topics that I have read previously. Also, I have posted subsequently to that date. Is this a cockpit problem from here or is there a glitch in the system?
Marc,
Forget the inquiry. All's well

Just to remind everyone (well, everyone who reads this thread), the last software update for these forums that I purchased about a year or so ago 'broke' the cookie function. Not completely, but partially. Because each time they released an 'upgrade' they broke something that worked in the previous version, I quit buying upgrades.

Have I de-railed?

It seems that the last time I was in here, the format of the list of forums was in a different order? Am I really losing it this time?

I'd like to share some sarcasm by saying something snippy.

But no. You're not imagining things nor are you (I doubt) standing on your head... The order has changed. Think you can handle it?

Marc,
Just an observation: If I enter the forums and there are no light bulbs, I click on the gentleman's photo and the photo gets a little smaller and "Blam" there are the light bulbs.

I don't know what to say. I went through the perl scripts some time back and I gave up trying to figure out the cookie part of the code. I haven't gotten up the incentive to buy a current version in part because of past problems in upgrading. You sorta get locked into the software. I wanted to switch but as you know I did that before and you end up with both programs running because you can't import the old stuff. Supposedly you can import threads into WWWThreads but I am sure all the internal links (links within threads) would all become dead links. So - for now we'll all have to put up with the current 'features'.

I know if you are in a thread and click the little tree link at the top right of the page to take you back to the main forums listing all the lights go on.

Bottom line is this is a cookie thing - a glitch (feature?) in one or more of the perl scripts.

Oh well...

Excuse me, Marc?

I was not at all being sarcastic. I just thought that things looked different and I was wondering if it was me not being observant or you changing things.

I thought I was being rather humorous and not in the least sarcastic! I didn't want to tick you off or anything.

:eek

No, no, no! I was sitting here in a sorta playful mood - I didn't mean you were sarcastic at all! I was just sitting here listening to an old radio comedy when you posted! At the time just about everything seemed to be funny. It was my (obviously failed) attempt at being, well, 'funny'....

I made the comment about standing on your head because to some degree I did, in fact, pretty much turn everything upside down. I was sorta picturing you standing on your head looking at the screen and saying "...this is MUCH better!..."

You didn't rile me at all. I apologise for not being serious! Sometimes the text in an e-mail does not carry the 'emotion' involved. That's in part why I wrote "...But no..." I had thought of a sarcastic reply and then thought better of it. My comment of "...Can you handle it?..." was from my youth. I was being 'funny'.

Again, I apologise. I'm not a very good comic.

Marc

No worries. Perhaps I took your comments the wrong way. It is difficult to be sarcastic in print- it just doesn't always come out the same. Anyway, I'm not losing any sleep over it.

Peace out.

Marc,
This isn't probably kosher, but I can't think of another way.

Firegirl,
The sample plan has been sent to you at least four times. No mail receipt, so I know that they are not reaching you. I've used the forum e-mail function and tried typing it from here. I am, however, receiving your e-mail.

Thanks marc for being the "server"

Have you been trying to e-mail me today? Word on the street is that others are receiving outside my mail, but not Fire Girl. Perhaps I have ticked off the wrong people...

I'll look into it. Keep trying little buddy!

Fire Girl,

Get yourself a back-up e-mail account, such as hotmail or mail.com, and they are free.

Tried to send you an e-mail with the training info you asked me about this morning - what I sent came back "User unkanown" (one of those Mailer Dalmation report things

Carol is right - Yahoo - or another free mailer backup service is probably in order.

Al, Marc

Sure thing about the FTP site. Please look at the posting in ISO 9001/4:2000-Product Realization, posted 19 June. There has been no feedback on this topic. The note on the Quality Plan I will send to Marc, via e-mail, contains the subject note the topic was talking about. If it turns out that I'm misinterpreting the note in the standard, just delete the note. Marc, the flow chart is done in Visio, imbedded into a word document. Edit at will!
