Statistical quality control technique used in deciding to accept or reject a shipment of input or output.
Acceptance sampling is a method used to determine to accept or reject a batch (lot) of products/ materials. The decision on the acceptability of the batch is made based on tests done on a sample of items. The method has the advantage of requiring fewer observations than fixed sample size tests for a similar degree of accuracy.
This minimizes the number of items tested when the early results show that the batch clearly meets, or fails to meet, the required standards.
