Does anyone know if there are rules regarding quoting what the FDA says in an announcement or other publication?

TIA:D:thanks:

Cite to the announcement or publication using a valid and consistent citation method (i.e. MLA, Chicago style, Bluebook)? At least that's how I've done it, and I'm not in trouble yet. :notme: :2cents:

Can you give some more context? Are you trying to use their words against them? Are you using what they say in a publication of some sort? Are you trying to quote what an FDA staffmember says at a public conference vs. in an official press release?

More clarification is needed...are you asking:
  1. how to reference FDA's announcements/publications? A few manual of styles were referenced earlier, follow those.
  2. how to claim 'something' by using FDA's statements for an out-of-context claim? <I hope this is NOT what is being asked b/c these are dangerous waters to paddle into & such strategy should NOT be considered as a reasonable one. Only with supportive data a claim has ground.>

I'm not sure if I've misunderstood your initial question.
