Changing the Ruler Scale in Visio Help!

I did not know where to post this thread, but I have received help before from Covers concerning VISIO so thought I would try this forum along with the Microsoft Forum (in which I have not received an answer yet).

I am working with VISIO 2000 and for some reason some files open with the ruler scaled in inches and some in millimeters. How do I change the millimeters to inches? I have gone into tools, options, regional setting and set the page to inches, but the ruler does not change. I have tried refreshing the ruler after making the change and still the millimeter scale.

Again, how do I change the millimeters to inches?

Thanks,
Doug

Re: Visio Help!

A few quick questions; are these files you created or were sent to you? If you created them you shoul dbe able to set up the page correctly as you want it. If they were sent to you and created by someone else, it is "locked". I know it is not really locked but the creator of the document is the only one who can change the scale.

Otherwise, try this -- under the "Format" tab you will see "SCALE" click on this and it should give you options on mm, in, ft., m, and mi. Select the one you want.

Hope this helps.

Can't help, can't even figure out all the options. That's why I use RF Flow...(www.rfflow.com) after test driving about 4 or 5 programs (including Visio). Once had a question, called the number, and the guy answering the phone helped me.
(This poster has no financial relationship with said company, just satisfied customer.)

Re: Visio Help!

Thanks to IEGREEK & James!

It was James' response that actually did the trick.

IEGREEK, the Format Tab did not have Scale (see attached pic). I had been trying to make the change via Tools (see attached pic). I was actually cutting a portion of a flow from one file and went to open another file to paste and it. The new file opened as a mm and not a in.

Madox, I am glad to know that you are satisfied with RF Flow! I have been a VISIO user since about 1994. I just forget how to do certain manuevers and the VISIO HELP just was not helpful.
