I Say... Hello all - I知 back

I知 back again after a long time of not being on here!! I知 glad to see it is still going as I know it was offline for a while.

This place helped me so much early in my career, I壇 like to think I have a little back too and since I was very active on here I致e learnt so much more!! I hope going forward I can share this experience with others, as being part of this community is important! I have a very busy personal and professional life, more so than ever, but will do my best to make the time to contribute here.

I致e worked extensively at automotive tier 1 lev for three companies now, been a Director, Engineer, Project Manager, auditor, Leader, Change Agent and Chief problem solver, but overall i am a Quality Professional I now work for Alexander Dennis here in the UK, an OEM bus manufacturer and I absolutely love it, it痴 the most challenging role to date but is extremely satisfying.

Please feel free to get in touch if can help in anyway!!!

A friend of mine is the runs the AD chassis build location over here near Toronto. We jokingly refer to me as his "secret shopper" since I often take public transit to get around the Toronto area and this includes the double-deckers built by AD. I talk with the drivers and pass along their feedback to him.

Ahh I see, I worked on the tail end of that project, as the plant I work in is responsible for all chassis globally, hope the Superlo double deck is working out ok for you!! I have worked with some of the team in Toronto, though not been there yet. Going to get over there one day soon.

The stairs are pretty steep for folks who commute like I do (i.e., with a larger roller bag and shoulder bag that slides down the roller bag's handle), but I usually manage to snag the single seat on the lower level then.

The drivers are saying the superlo and next gens drive better than the first ones they had, plus less leaking through the designation sign or around the upper seal of the windshield. (I used to work for Orion Bus - party of Western Star and then Daimler Chrysler, so I can handle some of the bus manufacturing terminology).

Downside to all - especially in comparison to the MCMs - is the the noise. Super loud on highways - especially concrete-grooved highways. There are times a frequency will be hit (between the engine and the tires on that particular surface) that my eardrums vibrate and I actually wince. I also need to crank my music or yell if in conversation with someone.

But they are now able to access almost - if not all - of the stops in the Greater Toronto Area, including those well established places with low bridges.

Wow that痴 some great feedback, I can certainly take that back to the engineers as an input to our product improvement programme. The low double deck was key for us getting the market share we desire in North America, really appreciate the feedback. We are also starting to build a midi single deck for the NA market, but I知 unsure of the areas that will be used, it痴 low numbers at the moment I believe.
