Distribution and PPAPs for products they do not manufacture

New to this forum so I apologize if this is a repeat. What is the risk assumed when a distributor completes a PPAP for products they do not manufacture? Some of our suppliers will not or cannot complete a PPAP and with customer requirements we must submit one. With no control over the manufacturing process, what risk do we assume by completing the PPAP ourselves?

I don't know how you could possibly do it for manufacturing. All you're doing is papering the file.

I would just do it for your value added -- inventory, storage, shipment, etc.

I know Chrysler wants a new layout every year and as a supplier to a supplier they expect us to come up this documentation but as a distributor that has a few vendors that will not complete PPAPs I am not sure how we can provide that outside of finding a suppler that will provide that information?

Step one confer with your FCA/Chrysler SQE and ask for guidance, PPAPs are key to the whole process and must be bullet proof and real.......they are binding.
