So based on the requirement of “AS9100C” the use of OASIS only could be acceptable.
I beg to differ, as AS9100C still requires the following to happen:
Quote:
The organization shall:

a) maintain a register of its suppliers that includes approval status (e.g., approved, conditional, disapproved) and the scope of the approval (e.g., product type, process family),

b) periodically review supplier performance; the results of these reviews shall be used as a basis for establishing the level of controls to be implemented,

c) define the necessary actions to take when dealing with suppliers that do not meet requirements,

d) ensure where required that both the organization and all suppliers use customer-approved special process sources,

e) define the process, responsibilities and authority for the approval status decision, changes of the approval status and conditions for a controlled use of suppliers depending on the supplier’s approval status, and

f) determine and manage the risk when selecting and using suppliers
So, if someone tells me that they approve and maintain suppliers in their AVL as long as the supplier is listed in OASIS, I would write them up for failure to comply with the bullets above, especially the ones in bold font.

Re: OASIS database: July 2016 Status

An email received last week informing us about the upcoming changes in OASIS:
Quote:
The International Aerospace Quality Group (IAQG) is pleased to announce that we remain on track for Release 1 rollout of the revised and enhanced database on 3 Dec 2016. To support this transition, the OASIS database will be unavailable at various times between 2 Dec 2016 (5:00EST) and 4 Dec 2016 (5:00EST).
The initial release will include all existing database functionality, currently published ICOP certification results data, and it will also include the following enhancements:
- Certification Bodies (CBs) will have the ability to plan audits and assign Lead Auditors
- Aerospace auditors will complete all required 9101:2016 "Quality Management Systems - Audit Requirements for Aviation, Space, and Defense Organizations" audit report forms online
- Online nonconformance management; including form issuance, tracking, online organization response and Lead Auditor acceptance
- Improved guidance materials that are focused on the "how to" and linked to specific database user roles
This enhanced functionality will be used for all audits conducted to the revised 91XX:2016 series Quality Management Systems standards. All future audits to prior revisions of the standards will be uploaded using the current .pdf file upload functionality.
We have set-up an Online Help tool that can be accessed at: http://oasishelp.iaqg.org. This Online Help, which is continuously growing, can also be accessed inside OASIS NG using the "?" icon in the upper right of the screen."
After 4 Dec, OASIS NG will be available at http://www.iaqg.org/oasis. You will be able to access the system using your current user name and password.
NOTE: If you are unable to log in, please use the "Forgot Password" process (available on the login page) to ensure you are using the correct credentials.
Thank you,
IAQG Team
