Ballooning/Bubbling PDF drawings - My Dynamic Stamp

I modified a dynamic stamp I found online to bubble PDF drawings. The bubble stamp file is a circle but didn't work well for three digit numbers so I created the oval file. Do not import these within Acrobat or it will drop the dynamic elements. Place the files in the following location:

C:\Program Files\Adobe\(your version of acrobat)\Acrobat\plug_ins\Annotations\Stamps\ENU

If Acrobat is running, close and restart it.
Open the file you want to bubble.
Click the pull down arrow next to the ?Stamp? button
Choose the circle or oval stamp under the ?Bubble Stamp? category.
Click on the drawing where you want your bubble
A dialog box will pop up, put the number you want in the circle
Hit Ok

Let me know how it works for you!

Re: Ballooning/Bubbling PDF drawings-My dynamic stamp

This works great! We've been using the CombiNumeral font here by copying the first number from Word to Acrobat. Then from Acrobat we copy and paste the first number then changing it to the next number and repositioning it. Your stamp works much slicker.

We like to use the color red to balloon drawings. Is there any way that I can change the color in your dynamic stamps? Thanks!

Re: Ballooning/Bubbling PDF drawings-My dynamic stamp

There is but it can be tricky. I'll try to post a how to soon but there is not enough time in my day for the next couple of weeks.

I don't understand what you're doing with Combinumerals that you have to paste between Word and Acrobat. Combinumerals works great for us in Acrobat. For numbers 1-19 you use the number keys and the letter keys on the top row. For 20-99, type the first digit with the number key and the second digit with <shift>+number key. (e.g. 24 would be typed as "2$") We only use the dynamic stamps for putting a letter in a bubble or the oval for numbers 100 and up.

We only use Word to format the CombiNumeral font to the desired size and color. (Acrobat 8 is difficult to use for formatting.) After that we copy and paste the formatted number "1" into Acrobat. Then we re-size the comment box and position the number. Rather that starting a new comment box, we copy #1 within Acrobat, which is now formatted correctly and place it into the next position, then double click it and type in the new number.

How do you format your text in Acrobat? Do you have a version later than 8?

NOTE: We have the Pro version of CombiNumerals and can type whatever length alpha/numeric character combinations that we want into the circle or oval.

I'm going to try creating my own dynamic stamps based off of some instructions on AcrobatUsers.com and see what I can come up with too. Thank you.

We have Acrobat 10 and changing font size and color is as easy as Word.

I threw these together in a few minutes and didn't test them so I'm not sure if they'll work but give these a shot and let me know.

Nothing shows up in my Stamps for the Red Balloon Stamps. I saved them to the same location as the blue stamps. Thanks, anyway. You don't have to try to make them work right now. As I mentioned, we do have the CombiNumerals and the users are gradually getting familiar with them. Prior to a couple of months ago they were still ballooning drawings in by hand. As the IT manager and a former QE, I wanted these drawing to look more professional and clean (and get them to use their computers). That's when I found the CombiNumeral font and installed it on their computers. They do seem to like it better than drawing them.

I'll try to have a look after the first of the year. Also, I misspoke about how we use Combinumerals. The top row of letters (q-p) will type a bubbled 1-10 and the second row of letters (a-;) will type a bubbled 11-19. For everything else we use the first number and <shift>+second number.

I am using Adobe Acrobat 11 Pro, the red oval is blue, still trying to number it sequentially and change the color. I didn't expect it to be easy for free.
