Leader
International Aerospace Quality Group --> IAQG 9100 - Quality Management Systems - Requirements for Aviation, Space and Defense Organizations

This document standardizes quality management system requirements to the greatest extent possible and can be used at all levels of the supply chain by organizations around the world. Its use should result in improved quality, schedule and cost performance by the reduction or elimination of organization-unique requirements and wider application of good practice. While primarily developed for the aviation, space and defense industries, this standard can also be used in other industry sectors where a quality management system with additional requirements over an ISO 9001 system (e.g.: high reliability critical systems) is needed.

Marc,

Where did the Purchasing Requirements of the AS9100 Standard go in Rev. D? e.g. 7.4, 7.4.1, 7.4.2, & 7.4.3. Only section I can find that somewhat related to was A.8 Control Of Externally Provided Processes, Products, and Services. Within our Department of Interactions Chart; Supply Chain is one of our Key Processes that I will have to perform an Internal Audit on. Please advise.

Disregard I found it in Section 8.4 new wording and just had to look harder. :)

Is there a matrix somewhere showing a comparison between AS9100: 2009 and 2016 text? I have seen something in the past for IS09001

Thanks :)

We’re beginning our transition from AS9100C to Rev D and our Rev D certification audit is scheduled for September 2017.

I was informed by our registrar that our Internal Audits for this year must be performed to the Rev D standard.

It's going to be interesting auditing 26 Processes to Rev D before we know if the changes we made to the 26 processes are sufficient to meet the Rev D standard.

How would an auditor view this situation?

That's why I love my job. It's never dull!

I have made one, but it contains the full text of the standard so I can't post it here due to copyright restrictions. Maybe I can take out the text and just leave the clause numbers and comments to make it legal to post.

Though you say you have 26 processes and not all of them will be impacted by the revision of AS9100. I have done a line by line review and base on my organizations QMS we have found that the hype about the “new requirements” are baseless for us.

Your auditor is correct that you will have to perform a system audit to confirm conformance to AS9100D requirements. But you only need to audit the changes that were introduced by AS9100D so existing audits could be used with supplemental audits performed to show how the organization is meeting the new/change requirements.

How is it done you may ask? Simply create a master 10 section audit report for AS9100D and then go section by section referencing audits previously performed to AS9100C. Summarize audit to show existing conformance to requirements and audit just those additional requirements added by Revision D. Bingo, audit is done you’re auditor has evidence that the internal audit was performed to AS9100D.

If you could make the changes and share that , it'd be a start at least.

Thank you for helping me see clearly.

I’ve been concentrating solely on the changes and wasn’t seeing the things that stayed the same.

I’ll get to work on the Master 10 Section Audit Report today.

Your help is greatly appreciated.
