Good Morning everyone.
I am having some confusion with the 8.1.1-8.1.4 when I do not manufacture or fabricate anything. I provide a coating service.
Thank you in advance for input

Hi Marie, and welcome to the Elsmar Forums. :bigwave:

Those clauses don't exist in ISO 9001. Can I assume that you're talking about AS9100?

Yes, I am referencing the AS9100 D Standard.
I have gotten through to section 7 and starting section 8 for my quality manual.
I am updating work procedures and complimenting documentation as I go through each step, as well as my auditing documents.
So at Section 8.1 I have great planning and controls.
Would I need to do PFMEA for this sections. Again, I do not manufacture or fabricate anything, just coating products.

I've moved your post to a new thread in the AS9100 forum, which will probably help it to get the right attention.

8.1.1 is virtually identical to clause 7.1.2 of AS9100 Rev C. Whatever you did for that should still apply in the new standard.

8.1.2 is similar to clause 7.1.3 of AS9100 Rev C. If anything, the new standard is even less prescriptive than the previous version. Again, whatever you did for that should still apply in the new standard.

8.1.3 - There's a good discussion here about product safety in build-to-print situations. This should also apply to "coat-to-print" situations as well.

8.1.4 is a new requirement for AS9100. Since the requirement applies to counterfeit "parts" you might be able to make a case to N/A this requirement in your QMS since you don't make parts. Alternatively you could address this with the measures that you take to ensure that the coating materials you purchase and apply are genuine and meet requirements.
