Hi all,
Just a general post.

I am interested to hear anybody's view on the statement 'applicable statutory and regulatory requirements'.
What is applicable? I was asked recently if equality act is applicable to the QMS and it took me back for a minute. Is this applicable? does this effect the organisations ability to consistently provide products and services etc etc..

Could make a case against 7 Support?

So basically I am asking for thoughts on applicability and if defined outside the scope of the QMS does it make it not applicable?

Grateful for any comments
Thanks
Paul

No, the Equality Act has nothing to do with product compliance. In the context of AS9100, statutory and regulatory requirements are related to the product, not environmental compliance, labor compliance, social compliance, etc....

Why would quality professionals be involved with anything they are not qualified and competent to address?

Sidney statements are correct.

The statement in the standard 'applicable statutory and regulatory requirements'. is for products / services and your customers will provide some of the information as to what is required. The rest of it will be determined by your location and usage of products.
