QS9000 Clause 4.10.7 requires Accreditation for External Laboratories

Andreas Dannhauer

The QS9000 chapter 4.10.7 requires accreditation for external labs. There might be external labs which have a monopol position or there might be tests for which it is impossible to get lab accreditation. Right now there is no official note from AIAG (sanctioned interpretations)which clarifies this point. What is your experience?

I haven't run into it, but I am relatively sure that if you can provide some type of evidence that there are no labs registered (certified) to perform that testing you shouldn't have a problem.

There IS reality. They can't make you do the impossible. The question is what is the test? It must be a rare / unique test.
