Error in data recording - Recording measurements in SAP

Hi, we are recording measurements in SAP using height gauges linked through a Steinwald interface. Occasionally, about 1 time in 100 the gauge indicates a different measurement to that recorded in SAP, usually an error of +/-0.01mm.

Can anyone suggest the cause of this discrepancy?

Check to see if there are any subfunctions running in SAP for the data collection field (triggered scripts, validation/recalcs, etc.)

Another trouble shooting test would be to load off into XL instead of SAP and see if the same behavior exists. If so, it is likely the gage interface software.
