The fact they are willing to pay gives credence to their sincerity.

My local community college recently had a job fair and complaints arose that some companies staffed booths with clerks only empowered to accept resumes and applications and who had no information on actual available openings and little information on the companies themselves beyond some minimal brochures which read more like product ads than employment recruitment material.

Criticism was aimed at the fact the free booth offer attracted many insincere folks just looking to buy some free publicity for having a booth and being listed in the newspaper press release.

Whatever else we may say about SAE, for the past few years, it has struck me as much more responsive to its members and their concerns than another society, ASQ, to which I also belong.
