CE / FCC Compliance for components + final product

I am manufacturing an electronic product that will be installed into a wooden musical instrument (with electrical outputs).

If eventually I plan on selling the electronic product separately (as an after-market component), would I have to receive a CE mark & FCC certification for BOTH the electronic component by itself AND separate certification for the MUSICAL INSTRUMENT with the electronic component installed?

Hope I am posting in the correct part of the forum!

Thank you for any help...

I'm not an expert (so you can consider this more of a thread bump), but I'm pretty sure the answer is yes. (unfortunately)

That being said, I believe the FCC has a framework for registering "modular" units that simplifies the process of getting FCC grants for devices into which they are incorporated.

As for CE, if each is subject to regulations that require CE marking, then they will both have to be CE marked, and their own declarations of conformity. Depending on what regulations are applicable in the two cases, unless the unit is affected by incorporation into the instrument, you should be able to leverage the CE conformity of the unit as evidence of conformity for the instrument into which it is incorporated.
