Please Help! Airworthiness - Precise definition of the term Airworthiness

Hi,

First time posting so here goes.

Can anyone give me a precise definition of the term airworthiness. I work for a small company that supplies components to the aerospace
industry.

We are sometimes asked to supply airworthy items but no one seems to be able to decide how what documentation is required before anything qualifies as airworthy

Finally is it the responsibility of the supplier or purchaser to check/verify the airworthiness of an item.

Regards
Richard

Re: AIRWORTHINESS

Airworthiness is defined in FAA Order 8130.2, the latest version of which can be found here.

By the way ... Welcome to The Cove, Richard!

Re: AIRWORTHINESS

Welcome to Elsmar.

If you're in Europe, airworthiness generally means compliance with one of EASA's airworthiness directives. See:
http://www.easa.europa.eu/regulation..._structure.pdf
If your customer is asking for proof of airworthiness, they may be looking for an EASA Form 1 or an FAA 8130-3.
