Signal-to-Noise (S/N) Ratio formula check

Hello!

Another diagram to take the place of notes. This one for signal-to-noise (S/N) ratios. Minitab has the formulas using logs, but all the other I see just use k's.

Does anyone know why two types of formulas and when one is used over the other?

(I also added an Applications column.)

If anyone sees anything else wrong or that could be added, please let me know.

Thanks for your help.

Regards,
leaning

Hi Leaning,

It has been a while since I used that aspect (DOE/Taguchi Design Analysis) of Minitab, their product is first rate....especially given that MT is now in release 18. From first hand experience their support is top notch and pretty timely as well. So absent any meaningful response from the Cove, suggest you get a support request initiated, link below...hope this helps. Hope this helps, optomist1
