Source for Compiling and Maintaining an EHS Legal Register

Can anyone recommend a cost effective source for compiling and maintaining an EHS legal register for OHSAS 18001 and ISO 14001 certification covering the USA and Canada including Federal, State and Provincial legislation?
Quotes from various companies offering online/software service seems extremely high for small to medium sizes business.
Sources should identify all EHS legal requirements and the corresponding duties.

There is no way possible because legal requirements are specific to individual locations and organizations. No 2 organizations are the same, even if they are next door to each other.:nope:

Hi Randy,

Thank you for the feedback. I am aware of your points and they are well noted.
What I am asking in simple terms is; where can we get cost effective support in putting the specific legal requirements for our particular operations in the areas in which we operate?
Surely there are people or organizations out there that have a list that would be comparable between similar businesses or operations.
It seems ludicrous that this type of info is not more readily available or broken down into more bite sized pieces at a reasonable cost. :truce:

Randy is absolutely correct. What you have to abide by depends on what your business is. Do you have Operating Permits that call out any requirements you have to comply with?

I would suggest that you contact an engineering firm that has environmental engineers on staff. They should be knowledgeable on your state legal requirements but another country's requirements may be an obstacle.

No matter who you talk to or whatever this software is you're talking about, you are going to have to explain every aspect of your business.

Thank you for the advice. I agree with what you are saying. The point I am making here is that to be compliant is a very high cost exercise and undertaking.
Wether we use engineering companies, lawyers, online services, consultants the cost for even obtaining a simple list of applicable legal requirements is an enormas strain on any company. To sit and do this myself would take huge time resources that I don't have at this point.
The system (or lack thereof) is somewhat uncontrolled and like with most of these type process here...it's a money grabbing exercise.
I see a business opportunity here. :2cents:;)
