Dear all,

Pls advise what do we need to do to show our compliance with RoHS and WEEE. Do we need to prepare a declaration form or to perform certain test to show compliance.

Appreciate your advise.

Thanks!

Dear lisawxf80,

unfortunately it is a little more complicated. In DIN EN ISO 50581 you will find a detailled description of the required documentation. Depending on where you sit in the value chain most of the time its a matter of contacting your suppliers. They have to give you a confirmation that their products are ROHS2 conform. In addition you have to deliver a DoC (Declaration of Conformity) with every product according to the presets of the directive (see appendix).

Im not so sure about the conformity of WEEE, as it's actually being revised. Please correct me if I'm wrong, but in general you have to prove that you give the customer ways to recycle your product properly. That means most often, that you must be a member of some "recycling agency" like the green dot or similar.

I hope that helps.

Best regards

This is correct. You must self-declare, but if you use product made by another group or entity, you'll need their declaration as well.

WEEE requires that you have made provisions for recycling of the product, and that the product has been designed with recyclability in mind.
