Excel Printing Glitch - How to STOP Printing One Cell per Page

Perspective.
In addition to my Quality hat, I have a small IT Support hat. I have one user that is having issues printing from excel. Anyone else can print the same files just fine. When she tries it puts one cell per page - but ONLY if she has selected the "Scale to fit one page" option. [MSO 2010 running on Win7]

I've already Googled it and tried several of the "solutions" found.
> No virus found
> Macros disabled
> Print drivers uninstalled, reinstalled, updated
> Latest service patch already installed
> Full Office "Repair" run

Here's hoping someone here has a solution that will actually work.

Re: Excel printing one cell per page problem

It is possible that if that particular computer had set the "Print Area" to one cell, or set the page size to one cell while having that file open that the computer itself has stored this information as default.

Reset or Clear the print area while on that computer on that file and see if that solves it.

I've noticed that sometimes print settings persist to other computers, and sometimes not. I've not noted a rhyme or reason or pattern.
Clearing them up from the "issue computer" usually solves it.

If that doesn't work...look in the File>Options>Advanced tab and make sure there isn't some weird background stuff going on....specifically from that computer.

Thanks, but those were tried even before I resorted to Googling the problem. No luck.

If you print a word document from that same computer, does it print normally?

Ninja, yes. Other Word programs are printing fine. And the excel doc will go back to print normally if the "Fit to one page" option is deselected.

Sorry, got me stumped too...
someone made it as simple as possible, but then made it simpler....

I never use print scaling just because of stuff like that.

Hi smryan,

May I ask; have you tried printing to a different printer, either networked or directly wired?

I ask, because I wonder if it is not excel, but the printer at fault. At least trying a different printer might eliminate one of your variables?

I have seen where sending the document to a different user, then having them print to the same printer yields the desired result. Not a fix, but a workaround.

Hooking up a local printer isn't an option - policy. To my experience if the printer were the issue then everyone would have the same problem. So no, I haven't installed a different printer - the next nearest one isn't very near.

My work-around for her is to manually scale her document contents to fit on one page and leave the [Fit to one page] print option alone.

I'm having the same problem but it seems to be when I use any fit to function.
