What are you talking about? You don't take an exam until after you take a Lead Auditor Course. Besides any exams like that would be copywrited or proprietary.

Re: Lead Auditor exams

Dear Randy

Yes , For sure the exam will follow my Lead auditor Course .

but i would like to have an idea (if examples don't exist) about the type of

questions asked during this exam .

are they general questions about iSO 9001 requirements , or/and

case studies or ... ?

Yes, for sure. It is actually given on the last day OF the course.

You will be prepared for the questions during the course. In the Lead Auditor Course I took, we did a practice test even. You'll be fine. :D

Good luck!

You've got the "cart before the horse". You need to worry about making it through "Continuing Assessment" before you even need to consider the exam.

You'll be tested on the material presented and your understanding of it.

There are no additional 'practice' exam papers other than the official specimen exam (as mentioned by Cari). I can't speak for all TO's but I always use the specimen paper during the course, partly as a teaching aid and partly to enable delegates to familiarise themselves with the style of questions and the method of answering required.

Randy's point is well made, concentrate on learning the material and the exam will take care of itself - it is of course an 'open book' exam.

When the latest standard was introduced in 2000 auditors were able to update their qualification by taking a conversion auditor course. I notice that these courses do not seem to be held now. Is it now necessary to take the lead auditor course again if one has not taken the conversion course. (Conversion was meant to apply to auditing processes rather than procedures)

The course you refer to was the 'Transition' course and as you say, it was designed to familiarise auditors with the requirements of the revised standard and the requirement to audit processes rather than procedures (in a nutshell).

You may still find a training provider that still has the course material but I doubt whether it will still be a registered course with the likes of IRCA. I was recently asked to deliver such a course for a company so I checked with IRCA and they stated that they would acknowledge the course as long as I verified that the material was still current. I doubt you will find one being offered as a public course nowadays though. Your most likely option would be to resit an LA course.
