Creating an Audit Mechanism (System/Plan)

Hi All,

I am studing for my LSSBB and I have an assignment to present a "How to" create an audit mechanism/conduct an audit.
I don't have much experience in auditing (I have performed some internal audits, and I have been on the receiving end of some customer audits):whip: so I thought I would post this question.
What do you suggest as a good audit mechanism? I don't want anyone to do my assignment, just looking for ideas to start me on the correct path to research.

:thanx:

Re: Creating an Audit Mechanism

Welcome to the Cove, Beerman! :bigwave:

Audits, and methods to conduct them, have been discussed at quite some length here in the Cove. I would suggest that you do a search (Yellow 'button' in the upper right of the screen) and review some of these discussions.

Something to keep in mind...the means of conducting an audit, including who's involved, resources used, etc., may differ depending on the type/level of audit.

I also did a search in the attachments list (upper screen...green 'button') and came up with Internal Audit files.

Thank you Roxane!
You have given me a great start. I tried searching before I posted, I figured this couldn't be a new topic, but I guess I just wasn't looking the right place. Thanks again for directions through the maze.

Here's hoping I haven't pointed you down a dead end!

As someone who is responsible for developing an internal assessment/audit strategy for her own organization (province-wide to start, national level to follow), I can see the potential value in your LSSBB project on this topic. :agree1:

Once you have sifted through some of the material, odds are you'll find yourself having more pointed (and answerable) questions.

...What is meant by....

...How do I plan for....

...System versus Process versus Activity...

...What have I got myself into?!?!... :lmao:
