Our organization doesn't (yet)have a robust supplier validation process and we are looking to correct that. To that end, we want to do more supplier audits and I'll be the one tasked to do them. I'm new to Quality Management so I'm on a very steep learning curve at the moment. I'm reading all I can and will be taking ASQ's online Auditing Fundamentals I, II, & III. I've gotten involved with the internal audit process but I feel there is much more to learn. I would like to find a mentor, perhaps a consultant does 2nd party audits that would allow me to assist them on occasion when time and logistics permit. My company would pay for my time and travel. Is this a reasonable request? Are there better options that I'm not considering? Thanks in advance!
