Re: What is an Airbus Industrial Process Control Assessment (IPCA) Audit Passing Scor

Cettina,
Actually, SCORE is another tool Airbus uses for their supply chain and stands for Supply Chain Operation Review & Evaluation
SCORE objective is to provide a quick and complete
Supply Chain Quality assessment at the supplier site.

Assessment scope: the following Supply Chain Quality areas are
assessed
4 Approval
4 New Product Introduction
4 CID – Corrective, Improvement & Development
4 Supply Chain Quality Risks.

Principles of use: SCORE is essentially based on what the Airbus
Representative can witness at supplier shop-floor and is more result-
oriented then process-oriented. SCORE is a versatile tool that can be
used for multiple types of mission:
4 SWAT Recovery
4 Industrial transfer monitoring
4 Ramp-up monitoring
4 New supplier selection
4 New Product Introduction
4 Supplier development

• SCORE results: SCORE provides an identification of supplier’s
strongest and weakest areas. Each Supply Chain Quality areas are
rated from 0 to 4 with the associated level of risk (Red, Amber, Green).

• Risks and standard approach: SCORE may have other uses. It give
the opportunity to have an overview of the risks and help us to have a
standard approach and the same vision of our supplier base.

SCORE and IPCA:
SCORE and IPCA are complementary tools to assess a supplier.
SCORE is designed for a one-day supplier visit by one Airbus
representative. Therefore, SCORE does not allow an in-depth
assessment like the IPCA tool.
But, SCORE can be used as a “preliminary” tool to define if an IPCA
assessment is required based on the supplier’s level of risk.
SCORE does not replace the IPCA.
The IPCA is much extense than the SCORE to audit.

Hope this helps.
