Can anyone tell me how can I design Gage for Bolt? What things we measure in Bolt? Do I need double Gage? I am little bit confused about double gage? Please if anyone know about it, let me know.

Can you provide us with some details? Some of our Fellow Covers are thread gage experts, but need a little more to help you. Can you post/attach a sketch?

yes its threaded fastener. Its like nut and bolt. I am not sure exactly what various parameters we can measure in bolt. So can you please tell me about it?
Stijloor, I not looking at specific bolt as such. But for example we can take M16*1.25 bolt.I don't have any sketch of bolt.
And guys, can you please help me in double gage, if you have heard about it? I am confused about it.

I am sure that our Fellow Covers will chime in soon.
Threads can be measured with a pitch micrometer (variables measurement).
I have also used (in a previous life
) thread gages such as a ring gage and a snap-type gage (Go-No Go, attributes gage).The "double gage" you are referring to may be the snap-gage type.

Please tell us more about the application. Why can't you use standard thread gages? Why do you feel you need to design a gage? If you're not sure what parameters to measure, how do you know you need to measure at all?

Actually its about the measurement of bolt for fitting application. I can use standard gage. I am learning to design gages. And I am not sure what all parameter we can measure in bolt so i need to find out.

It's very difficult to help you with a specific question if you do not understand the basics of gage design and development.

Perhaps by double gage they are talking about a two roller style gage.

The two roller models start on page 9. You should be able to find similar gages locally as well.
