Testing Agencies - Gas Meters and Hand Held Analyzers

Hello,

I'm new to this site and I'm looking for information on where I can get some gas meters and hand held analyzers calibrated by an accredited ISO/ IEC 17025 agency?

We use Romet and American Meters, gas meters and Testo hand held combustion anayzers.

I work in a lab for a company that makes gas fired boilers and we are looking to have UL here for some testing and we want to be prepared.
We also use ETL for testing but so far they do not require our equipment to be calibrated under 17025.

Thank you for your help.

Hi Bruce,

A few questions:

What is your current process for calibrating these devices?
Is your product currently UL certified? If not, what are the UL requirements with regard to calibration requirements?

There should be Accredited labs in your area. Another option is to contact the manufacturers/distributors of these devices and ask who they would recommend.

Currently the product that we need to do some testing on is UL listed and because of this, our test equipment needs to be calibrated by a company that is accredited under 17025.

We do have a local company this is accredited but they are limited to what they can test (ie. volt meters, amp meters, thermocouples and readouts, scopemeters, etc.)

I contacted the companies that we purchased our analyzers and gas meters from and neither of them are accredited, and do not have any knowledge of a company that is accredited to calibrate them.

Prior to this year, we had a company that came in on a schedule, that would calibrated all of our electrical test equipment. Then we would send out our analyzers and gas meters, to the factory to be calibrated and this was acceptable.
All equipment had NIST traceablilty, but just recently UL added that all test equipment needed to be calibrated under a agency that is accredited under ISO/ IEC 17025 and now we are in search for a place to send out our equipment because UL will not accept certificate of calibration, unless it was performed by an accedited company.
