Hospital Internal Audit Check List

Hi guys,
Our hospital is going for ISO 9001:2008 Certification.
I would like to know the number of Internal Auditors we can appoint.
What are all the points which should be covered in an internal audit check list.
Its first time I will be preparing the check list, so how to make it more effective so that it covers all the likely points which are generally asked in final audit.

Annanya

You can appoint as many internal auditors as you like - the more the better really because I think good auditors make good auditees too.

You would normally need at least 2 in order to help ensure objectivity and impartiality of the audit.

As for a checklist - have you had auditor training yet? If so, I am sure they covered that on the course. If not, there are plenty of people here on the Cove that could provide internal audit training - where are you based?

Thanks Colin for the information.

I haven't undergone any auditors training. I am from Kolkata (West Bengal), India.

Hi, :bigwave:
You can attend to an Auditor's Training so that you could have a basic knowledge how will it goes.
There are several auditor's training may be available locally in your area.

You really want to take an auditing class rather than depend on an audit checlist. You want your auditors to learn the process approach so they can develop their own checklists.

Good luck and keep posting questions.
