Hello
Does anybody have an idea how to fulfill requirements placed in point 7.2.1c concerning law requirements. How can I prove before the auditor all (during an audit) that all requirements (new law rules concernig product, enviroment health and safety) are known and implemented. Do I need procedure or other kind of documents. I'm waiting for advice.
Thanks in advance for help :thanx:

It is not a requirement to prove all requirements are met. But the auditor may look for a system, showing how you determine what requirements apply. Maybe also a list or log of those requirements that do apply. Most auditors do not go very far with this req. unless it is a ISO 14001 audit, where it is an important clause.

Product safety

Perhaps your product has IMDS for toxic restricted materials reporting, look over the drawings for FMVSS specs, or inverted deltas, special characteristics, etc, talk to your engineering folks too. Typically the auditor will look for this in PPAP also. With some basic research on your part you can find this info.

Basically the DOT website has a summary of FMVSS safety standards that may be helpful. Regulate auto products include anything from brakes to lighting to seating. And interior products may have flammability. What type of product do you supply? Chenicals & materials may have MSDS and even DOT regs that apply ....

Suggest you be prepared for this in opening meeting as it is on many registrars checklist for opening meeting question. The text Product Safety by Willie Hammer, or Safety Management by Robert Kozak has a good description of the process for regs identification.

If you was referring to ISO 9001:2001 clause 7.2.1.c. You should first of all verifying if there are some legal dispositions that concern your products.
For example in our sector there are legal requirements about the contents of some elements that could be dangerous for environment

After that you should collect it and remembering that they are product requirements and like them should be controlled (see clause 7.2.2):bigwave:
