CQI-9 #1.9 - Heat Treatment - Management shall review the furnace monitoring systems

We are a commercial heat treatment shop. In CQI9 2nd edition 1.9 says: "Management shall review the furnace monitoring systems at intervals not to exceed 24 hours......." What does "Management" mean here? Is it top management? If so, our plant works on saturday and sunday, but there is nobody from the top management, which means 24 hours will be violated!!! TIA

The word 'Management' doesnot always mean top management.Any one who is responsible for the activities and processes ,a supervisor,a foreman or a shift incharge is part of management. Management is not one man or one group but it is a 'Management chain' like supplier chain.
Therefore your plant incharge or foreman or shift incharge represents management.Only requirement is that he should have communication link with the top management.
There are innumerable companies which are managed through remote control from corporate head offices located thousands of miles away.

This could go together witht the idea of Layered Audits, here you also need daily audits by shift leaders etc.
