TS 16949 and ISO 9001:2008 in the same organisation

Hi
I have recently joined a company in the UK who already have ISO9001:2008. They want to get into the automotive sector and have tasked me (alone), to introduce TS16949. I could really appreciate some advice. Is it possible to undertake this alone? :(

There are plenty of threads here and search a bit and you will find a lot of help.

Please note that wanting to get into the Automotive industry is not enough to get certification to TS. You must be a supplier of relevance parts

The purpose of the letter of conformance is to confirm that processes exist which satisfy the

A client may be eligible to receive a letter of conformance in the following two situations:
1) a new site exists, or
2) an existing site that can demonstrate it is on an active bid list for a customer requiring ISO/TS
16949:2002 certification or compliance.

Thanks Howard. I'll hunt around and see if I can find what I need.

If you - and the others in the organization - are not experienced and familiar with many of the tools and techniques which are customer specific requirements, plus some of the other aspects of TS which are 'adders' to ISO 9001, it would be very worthwhile getting some help - as they say, "if you think education is expensive, try ignorance!"

The folks at Excel Partnership in Hemel are very experienced in TS.

This is one issue that irritated me at my last employer. We were certified to TS since one of our customers required it. Upper management would not discuss this with the customer and try to get them to agree to ISO 9001 only. The problem came when we were being 3rd party audited. They only wanted to look at work for the automotive customer and their ancillary activities. This limited the audit considerably. When we tried to show them aspects of the system they would always try to relate it to the one customer. Sometimes it was not easy to do.

Gave me a few headaches.
