Here's a rough correlation of the core tools with clause numbers:

APQP - 7.1, 8.1.1, (Control plans - 7.5.1.1, Annex A, 7.3.1.1, 7.3.2.3, 7.3.3.2, 7.3.6.2, 8.1.1, 8.2.3.1, 8.5.1.2)
PPAP - 7.3.6.3, 7.3.3.2, 7.5.2/7.5.2.1, 8.2.3.1, 4.2.3.1 (note)
SPC - 8.1, 7.4.3.1, 7.5.1.1, 7.5.1.3, 7.6.1, 8.2.3.1
MSA - 7.6.1, 8.1, 8.2.4 (note)
FMEA - 7.3.3.1, 7.3.3.2, 4.2.3.1, 7.3.1.1, 7.3.2.3, 7.5.1.1

Important key point - some of the core tools are references, and some are requirements.

PPAP = is the default REQUIREMENTS manual for PPAP.

It is the default for certain companies not for others

What I meant was that if a customer does not spell out their PPAP requirements, it defaults to those in the PPAP manual.
