IATF 16949 Transition - What's Your Plan?

Hi all,

I'm currently in the midst of putting together a project plan for how we will meet the timeline for transitioning to the new IATF standard and what will need to happen in a "stage gate" format.

So far, this is what I have:

1. Gap analysis
2. Meet with top management to discuss changes and resource needs
3. Cross functional groups to decide how best to implement required changes
4. Update, create, change current policies, procedures, WIs, forms, etc.
5. Revise Quality Manual
6. Training (all personnel), as required
7. Full Internal System Audit to IATF 16949:2016
8. Management Review
9. 3rd Party Certification

What are your plans/strategies for accomplishing the task at hand?

First step is to review and understand the new IATF 16949. I've reviewed it but I'm not sure that I understand what some of the new requirements are asking for.

Anyone know of good IATF 16949 understanding training and availability??

What are your plans/strategies for accomplishing the task at hand?

We are going to punt. Given our audit schedule and the inflexibility of the IATF transition requirements, we'll have less than a year to make the transition and we couldn't possibly get your entire list done in that year (while at the same time actually running a business). The thing is a monster. We'll go back to simple old ISO and work from there.
