Who has had a transition audit from TS 16949 to IATF 16949? If so, can you tell us some details based on the experience?
If the client does not provide the minimum required information for the off-site documentation review prior to the audit to the certification body, the audit shall not begin.
It is at the discretion of the certification body to schedule additional audit days on-site to conduct an additional in-depth review of the documentation provided by the client prior to the audit.
If the transition audit cannot be conducted within the required timeframe, the client shall start over with an initial audit.
It's look scary, having 22 Days audit. How detail was audit conducted? We have joint a class related internal audit by a local consultant and said that no need 1 year data but at least a sample of data and scheduled activity plan is that OK?We just had our transition audit (22 mandays audit).
Key theme of the audit are the changed elements - as can be expected -.
So the 9001:2015 and ISO/TS IATF changed items. How do you fulfill them?
In advance a 1 day review was on performance (customer score cards etc) and 1 day document review (show how we fulfill the requirements). How is your cross reference and can you already show how you set-up your processes?
Therefore (for us) focussed shifted from primary to secundary processes like warranty mgt systems. Although all regular items were checked (core tools, calibration, personell competence, etc).
Other lessons from the audit:
- KPI management (if you a have a negative trend to target. Can you always show your action plans and are employees aware of priorities, improvement plans)
- Management review process really takes effort (in big company) especially to show that we had a good review of the 'changed management system' and top management was really involved.
- 8.5.6.1.1 Temporary change of process controls was issue in some areas
- all functions involved (as they were part of audit) like Finance, Sales, Procurement, etc
We have few majors to follow up, but wil have special audit in summer to close the non-conformities
Just completed our transition audit to IATF 16949.
12 minors non-conformances and 1 major. Nothing we can't correct quickly and move forward.
Two auditors for two days (relatively small site remote location) IATF should have modified the rules to allow remote sites to stay with TS until the main site had their transition audit. This would have benefitted our site in the audit.
