Business Benefits from IATF 16949 QMS

Hello Fellow Elsmar Covers,

I'm working with a major company that is a Tier 1/2 supplier of a major piece of technology (household name) and they are looking for our guidance on the business benefits to compliance to IATF 16949. I am aware of all of the classic ones (business benefits) but was wondering if anyone has any White Papers on the topic or data (sanitized of course) of the tangible commercial benefits of compliance and/or registration.

Anyone who shares info with me will be afforded the courtesy of receiving the data I collect back should they wish to have this.

Thanks in advance,
Roland Kelly
PS. Our client has significant brand presence and is ISO 9001:2015 registered today (the minimum allowed per requirements)

If you clarify which ones are the classic papers you already have, we don't send redundant information.

Sidney,
I did not mean to infer Classic Papers rather the classic reasons ..

Cost reduction and waste elimination
Reputation
Access to new markets
Team morale improvement
Repeatability of key processes consistently
Process integration
Improved data for decision making
Continual improvement culture

Anything in addition (these are some quick ones that come to mind).

Thanks, Roland

There are a number of business cases attempting to demonstrate the business value of accredited conformity assessment deliverables, available @ Public Sector Assurance Most of the cases are related to the external conformity assessment piece of international standards, not necessarily the standard itself. But, as we all know, would any organization really have the necessary discipline to maintain voluntary conformance to standards without an external force?

More available here.

Tom Vachet (BSI) is personal trainer in FL.
