Please Help! Critical Defect Destructive Testing Sampling

Hi,

I have a process here that has highlighted one unit displaying what i would call a critical defect. My lot size is 5,000 and i've put the remainder of the lot on hold.
Testing for this defect is destructive. I can affort to pull 2-300 from the lot for testing but want to present to those above me what level of confidence this will give me in the batch. I will fail the entire batch if another failure is found.

many thanks...

Re: Critical Defect Destructive Testing Sampling

a few questions: what was the original sample size? and what defect rate in the lot would you consider to be too high to release?
