Customer Notification: PCN - EOL

My company is addressing continual improvement activities for our product change/end-of-life management system. We supply products to hundreds of customers ranging across industrial, commercial, military, aerospace, and automotive industries. One of our challenges is guaranteeing that a PCN or EOL has actually been received, acknowledged, and accepted by our customer. Although we have a field on our PCN and EOL forms for the customers to complete and return to our change management coordinator, we never receive these back. We do adhere to JEDEC Standards JESD46 and JESD48, 'we will deem this change accepted unless specific conditions of acceptance are provided in writing within 30 days from the date of the notice'. We do not have software applications that can manage our process – everything is handled via email and/or through Sales physically delivering the notices to the customers, therefore, with the number of customers we have…this is an extremely manually intensive process.

Can anyone share information on their company's approach for PCN & EOL management for addressing customer acknowledgement? Also, does anyone utilize a vendor software solution that manages change management that can be recommended?

Yes...PCN = product/process change notification and EOL = End-of-Life.
