Can a company's website content be audited?

Hello everyone,

We will be going through a recertification audit within the next few months with a new registrar, and as I prepare for the audit, I started thinking about our company's website. Currently we are AS9100B certified, however when we recertify, it will be to ISO9001:2008 only. Our management chose not to certify to AS9100C. Currently our website lists our accreditations including AS9100B. When we have our audit, if our website hasn't been updated to remove AS9100, can that be a finding?

Thanks.

Maybe not a finding as such, but I am willing to bet that your contract with the registrar states something along the lines that if you drop certification, you will have to remove all references to it.

As for the title question (Can a company's website be audited?), I would say: Yes, definitely. I should also add that I do find a lot of outdated information on websites.

As a part of the check on use of CB logo, the website contents can be audited. If your QMS mentions or has reference to the company website contents, it certainly becomes a part of the audit process.

Our QMS make no mention of our website. But the website does have several references to our certification to AS9100B and shows our current AS9100 certificate. CB logo is only on the certificate. Although it is current (at this time), our audit will be only to ISO9001, so I do agree it should be updated accordingly, my concern is that it won't be updated by the time the audit takes place.

Thanks.

The company I work for had to drop design due to our customers had changed to a build to print format. We have the capabilities and process to do design work, just no full design projects from start to finish testing to show the auditors.

So if asked, we will tell potential customers we can do design, but do not claim it due to the last few years everything has been build to print. If they want us to design, we will be happy to. So we don't list it on the website.

When the AS9100 is no longer your status from a given date, I guess you must have a mechanism to edit your website contents suitably within a reasonable time (Like a day or two, and even a week for me appears as misrepresentation)
An ISO9001 audit will not be interested in your AS qualification
But by the audit time of ISO9001, if your AS9100 status is still active, why bother ?

I guess I'm confused - what can possibly be the reason for more time than "next business day" for deleting obsolete data from a web site?

that said, I have seen dozens of corporate web sites which are no more than static "yellow page" ads, which have not been changed in any way for years.

To prevent the boss or the company looking like a doofus who/which is not efficient is one of the reasons I refer folks in charge of web pages (direct or boss of the actual web master) to take a look at Vince Flanders' site for what NOT to do
