Does the correction (or disposition) of a QMS nonconformity come under 8.7 or 10.2.

Does the correction (or disposition) of a QMS nonconformity come under 8.7 or 10.2.

It already said in 10.2: take action to control and correct it
a) in 10.2 is the requirements for correction
b) in 10.2 is the requirements for corrective actions

8.7 is the requirements for how to control NG outputs

Does the correction (or disposition) of a QMS nonconformity come under 8.7 or 10.2.

Although the line is a little blurred with the new version, 8.7 is roughly equivalent to the old 8.3 Control of Nonconforming Product, and 10.2 is roughly equivalent to the old 8.5.2 Corrective Action.

The product should be addressed per 8.7, and the QMS nonconformity should be addressed per 10.2.

But please pay attention that the clauses which says "evaluate the need for action to eliminate the cause of the ..." in b) indicate that the corrective actions is not a must. Whether the corrective action is required is based on the evaluation result.
